Pashmina Cone of Power

It is always easy to tell others what to do, and in the process neglect yourself. Today was not one of those days! For the past several months, as I have mentioned in my recent blogs I have found that it has been hard to be magical. These last few months were particularly rough as I had just come out of a wonderful magical period, but everything waxes and wanes now doesn't it?

I had set my intent this week to start doing my daily magical and meditation practices. I have been successful so far, but of course it is only Tuesday. Yesterday I was able to do a guided meditation, and some spiritual work in the garden, today I planted some more seeds, and spent time in the ritual room. The wonderful thing about today is it was not any ritual that I had planned, or been taught. It was a free flowing ritual, set before my still standing Samhain altar of bones, wings, and other dead things. As I came into the ritual room I felt that overwhelming feeling of blockage. I lit some sage and smudged, but didn't feel it was good enough. I grabbed a very large piece of black tourmaline known to release blockages, and sat down.

In the usually way I grounded and swayed with the background music I put on to drown out any unwanted noises. I held the tourmaline to my stomach, which has been feeling particularly uneasy for the past few days. I am sure that I ate some gluten along the way and that was the main problem. There is nothing like wanting to do ritual, but your body just wants the opposite. Things still felt a little odd to me, and I felt like there needed to be something more.

Several months ago, there was a blog or two on Pagan women veiling, this created a fuss in many circles, some were for it and others were against it. Many veil types were compared to the Islamic style, and the modesty that came with it. Some were against it as nudity is a form of freedom to them. I will admit that I was one of the ones against it. As I further my studies of Avalon, I have had many meditations about the Priestesses of Avalon, and many times they are veiled, not in a form of restriction, but in a beautiful way. I have been feeling the need and want to veil during ritual, and I have rejected it over and over again. HOW COULD I VEIL? IT IS ABSURD!!! It makes no sense to me, I have in the past tried to support the veiling movement, though against it internally at the time, I tried comparing it to a hooded robe, but veiling is NOT a hooded robe now is it? Today though something interesting and magical happened.

As I sat there rhythmically breathing and holding the black tourmaline, I thought of veiling. To my right was a Pashmina scarf that was just lying there, and another more square scarf as well. I took a moment and laid out the square scarf, I then sat in the center clutching my tourmaline. I took the Pashmina scarf and draped it over my head. It didn't feel strange or restricting at all. I took a moment and tried a few different ways. At last I decided to just drape it slightly over my head and face the way you would see a image of the Catholic Mary. The sides of the scarf folded in towards my face, and it created a darkness, but also it was containing my energy. I took a moment to invoke Reiki, and then pulled the scarf to the side, and laid down, it was now covering my body. I used the Reiki and Tourmaline to balance my body and spirit, with great care taken to focus on the solar plexus (upset stomach) and the 3rd eye, where I was really feeling the block. About 20 minutes went by. (well I don't know for sure as I don't keep an eye on the time in ritual, so I am guessing here) I felt wonderful and ready for a meditation. I sat back up and readjusted the scarf around my head, again slightly covering my head and face and let it flow down my sides, there was a small slit in the center, and the sides of the scarf hit the ground. It was much like a triangle. As I sat in that cone of Pashmina scarf I swayed into a light trance. I had THE best meditation I have had in over 6 months, and the way I feel now after is that of rejuvenation, and resurgence!

I am astounded by the effects veiling had for me in this meditation/healing session. Being so against it for so long, and then finally succumbing to the urge has reminded me that the ways of magic will continue to out shine the ways of our society. There was nothing stifling about it, in fact I felt more at peace and free to be open and relaxed in my little Pashmina cone of power. The fine fabric contained my energy and created a vortex of swirling magical energy around me. This is something that I will be practicing in my personal practice more often, as well as trying to figure out a way to incorporate into my ceremonial magic rituals.

Bibliomancy

Bibliomancy
by Annwyn Amar

Have you ever been reading a book and feel yourself whisked away to a completely different place or time? Have you ever read a book and a few chapters in have the answer to a problem that has been plaguing you for weeks? Well then you might be a Bibliomancer. I have never met anyone in the pagan community that has said “I don’t like books and I will never read them” in fact it is quite the opposite. If you are like me then you have stacks of books all over the house, you have 50+ books in your Amazon cart, and a list you want to borrow from a friend.
Ever since I was a child I had a hard time “focusing” when I was reading books. I was constantly in trouble for being a slow reader and a daydreamer. At one point my parents got me glasses for my 20/20 vision just so I could focus. Needless to say it never worked. As I grew older, I came up with tricks to train myself to focus; eating while reading, constantly moving or fidgeting etc. You see my problem was not the fact that I couldn’t focus, the problem was that by the time I reached paragraph three I was in a completely different world.
Recently my mentor and I have decided to read the “White Goddess” for a project we are working on. If you have read it or even seen it you know it is a hard, long book and the language isn’t the easiest to read. I highly respect Robert Graves for his monumental work, but we have spent more time on the phone talking about how hard the book is that actually reading it. My mentor recently called me and said “I have figured it out!” and she began to unravel her method of reading the book. As she spoke I was astounded, I had been doing this since I was a child. Why didn’t I think of this? What an amazing concept! Read the book through divination, gain the knowledge of the book and the hidden meanings in both the book and the subconscious!
How does biblomancy work?  One simple way is to let spirit guide you to a book.   For example, if the subject is about love then grab a romance novel, or a spell book on love. Ask your question and close your eyes, allow your fingers to open the book, to any place in the book, front back middle etc. Slowly flip through the pages and ask your question over and over again. When you feel your hand snag on a page, or when you feel that “yes this is the page” then stop, open your eyes and begin to read. Is the page positive? This would be a yes. Is the page negative? This would be no. Do the words on the page form the answer for you?
This is not the only way to biblomance. As you progress and become more comfortable, take it to the next level by inducing a trance through reading.  If you are a regular trance practitioner then this should be a wonderful addition to your trance work. If you are new, no worries! Sit in a comfortable position, back straight, and legs crossed if you wish.  Push the shoulders down, extend the neck up and head forward this will help to ease you into a trance state. As you begin to read, you allow the words to take you somewhere.  Do not worry about the content but just say the words one after another, allow yourself to be free, and remember that you are not reading for the content. If you reach the bottom of the page without any luck then go back to the top and read the same page. If you try this several times with no luck, then try a different page or book. Remember that the words must trigger the mind shift, so let it be a book that you really resonate with. If you want to work with the Fae, then don’t read a science fiction novel. If you are trying to connect with Isis, don’t read a book on herbalism, but find a book that is about Isis. As you begin to shift into the other world allow yourself to go. This can be the hardest part, letting the imagination run free; the imagination is the bridge to the other side. Without this bridge, you cannot cross the veil. Be sure to keep a notebook handy and write down your experiences. You may find that other body positions are better such as reading on a couch or lying down. If you happen to slip into a dream state let yourself drift off.
Though many people have not heard of or practiced bibliomancy, it is actually a popular practice, and is featured in many films, and books. Alice in wonderland is a prime example.  In the first paragraph of Lewis Carroll’s work “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, more commonly known as” Alice in Wonderland”, she is sitting on the bank, (a tween place) and was peeking at the book her sister was reading. Just a few lines later is when the rabbit appears, and down the rabbit hole she goes. Alice in Wonderland is more than just an example of biblomancy, but it is also a shamanic underworld journey. As your bibliomancy skills increase with practice, take it to the next level and begin to journey. I hope that you have many wonderful meditations, and that the words on the pages part the veil for you.

Western Gate Samhain Festival

Just days after returning home from Kelowna Canada by way of Spokane, I am still riding high on the energy from the amazing ritual, and witches I had met. New and old!
Thursday I had packed my bag, armed with ritual items, offerings, and a good book to read. I left for Spokane. The flight was uneventful other than a few interesting points in the book I was reading. I arrived late in the evening, and was picked up by Idalia, a wonderful friend that I had met back in my North Carolina days. She is married to a Marine, and we were both stationed together back in NC. We had worked several times together in ritual, and have a deep spiritual connection. Though we wanted so desperately to catch up, we decided it was better to sleep and catch-up on the drive the British Columbia.

We arose early the next morning, I was half jittery from the wonderful cold, and excitement. We chose a healthy breakfast, and headed on the road. It was a leisurely drive filled with talk of the past, things we had learned, what the word "Witch" and "Priestess" meant to us both, and the intricacies of each path, how they can intersect but be very different. Some are called to one path, others to both. There was talk of initiatory energy as we passed over the large damn, and over the border and into a small town called "Summerland". Little did we know how important that would be!
We arrived in Kelowna, it was a cute peaceful town surrounded by hills and lakes. The perfect place for this Water Witch! We freshened up in the hotel, ate some food and set out for the evening's festivities. Unfortunately we got lost (a trait of mine I'm afraid) and so we missed the Gaelic Song workshop, though I am not too sad, I don't sing well in English, and it is better that I not butcher that beautiful language. I tend to be very shy in new situations, and Idalia not so much, so I let her lead as we arrived. We began to meet people, and I settled into my comfort zone. The concert was amazing. We had 2 wonderful singers Kerri https://www.facebook.com/KerriJoy?ref=ts&fref=ts and Ameila http://www.ameliaisaverb.com/ It is so interesting to me how wonderful and different they were. Kerri's voice is soft and sweet and makes you fall instantly in love with her. Ameila's voice is deep, and soulful. She is a true siren, the first note had me falling in love over and over, her music sent chills up and down my legs, it was enchanting. We headed back after the concert to get a good night's sleep, and I am so glad we did.

We arrived at the UU church the next morning 15 min early. Soon after we began the opening ritual. It was a soft and beautiful ritual, perfect and fitting for the opening, and early morning! It was led by Andrea Hess, the organizer of the Western Gate Samhain festival, she did a WONDERFUL job. The first workshop started right after the ritual, it was led by Sarah Lawless, the Witch of Forest Grove. She not only lived up to, but exceeded my expectations. Her workshop was so informative, and was like validation to my own path. Though I follow a slightly different path than Sarah, her work with the ancestors, and bones has encouraged me to dive deeper into these mediums, as well as explore many new things she taught. I am so pleased to say that she taught a new form of Bone Divination, and I am so looking forward to using it during the Samhain ritual this Saturday. I told Idalia that this was the workshop I had come so far for, and I was so satisfied, anything that came after was the cherry on top, there ended up being several cherries! http://witchofforestgrove.com/
Morpheous Ravenna's workshop was next. I had read a bit about her on the website, and knew that Idalia would be excited as "The Morrigan" was her matron goddess, and this particular workshop was on her.  I have worked with Morgan La Fae, different beings that have several aspects that parallel, but the Morrigan's energy is that of a Warrior, something that I do not vibrate well with. Her workshop was very overwhelming, and informative. She spoke of Sovereignty, Morrigan's aspect as the Banshee, and then taught us a incredibly powerful chant. http://shield-maiden.blogspot.ca/2012/10/the-hollow-place.html

Brenden Meyers workshop was the last of the day. If you do not know who he is, you should. He is the only openly pagan tenured Professor. I will admit that I was not familiar with him, until the workshop. I was very intimidated by his professional accomplishments as I am more of an artist and "feeler" vs. a "thinker" his workshop spoke of Honor, Virtue and "Becoming the kind of person you would want to be over and over again". This is something that hit home on both a spiritual level, (Following your path, and dream) as well as on a "community" level. We as a community need to live virtuous lives, be the change we want to see in the world, and become an ethical community. For me is meant that we as a community should stop focusing on the little petty things, the things that we do wrong, who has wronged us, and step up our game, live a life full of Generosity, Friendship, Apotheosis, Courage, Happiness, etc "We are our Deeds" he said, this was a good reminder to choose to do those deeds that are kind, and not dwell on the negative. I highly recommend his lecture to anyone who might get a chance to go! http://www.brendanmyers.net/

We took a break and began to prepare for the main ritual. It was one of the most powerful rituals I have ever been to. Ameila, Seamus and Morpheous led the ritual, Ameila's soft voice rang out and spoke of Soverenty, Morpheous with the help of Seamus began to lead us in the chant we had learned earlier. Morpheous, began to fall into a trance, feeding on the rhythm of the voices, she entered the sacred space through the Western gate. Moments later I felt a strong chill run up my legs, like 1000's of spiders scurrying along. Not long after Morpheous's body began to writhe, her face turned pale, and her helpers helped her stand, just as piercing screams like that of a Banshee rang through the room, The Morrigan was present, the struggle between Morpheous's human body and "The Morrigan's" godly presence was evident, but Morpheous held the Goddess well. The rest was a blur for me, as I was not familiar with the Warrior energies, and was nearly knocked over by her presence several times. The chants continued, and The Morrigan spoke to us all. We formed a cauldron with our bodies as she opened the gates to the underworld and the ancestors poured out, A sword was presented and we charged it with our and the Ancestors energies. Just as I felt I could begin to breathe again, the Goddess was satisfied, and left, as Morpheous body collapsed on the floor. With the help of her friends, and other ritual members, she was delicately cared for with love, and honor. I am QUITE familiar with Ritual possession, as I have witnessed several before, including Odin, Herne, and The Umbanda People, they were all a slow possession, less intense, and different energy. The Morrigan was powerful, fierce, and I am still in awe.

After the ritual, we ate dinner, taking 10 minutes of silence to honor our Ancestors. After the supper, Grant Led us in a beautiful ritual connecting us with and honoring the ancestors. We bound and charged Bear bones in a Seal's skin and then in a procession walked about a mile to the lake and threw it in. The rest of the night was filled with Fire performances, and merriment. I was exhausted and headed to bed, so I could be awake and alert for the next day. http://wulfricspiritcraft.com/
The next morning we met at the UU for a ritual procession down to the lake. This time we were to throw the sword we had charged the night before into the lake as an offering. Sarah Lawless a native of the area was asked to do this honorable task. It was beautiful to watch as the sword hit the water, I half expected the Lady of the Lake or a Gwragedd Annwn to reach up and grasp it. As everyone headed back, I stayed by the lake, I felt I needed to walk the bank a "tween" place and bask in the magickal energy surrounding me. I collected feathers, and drift wood, and of course found a lovely bone!

We attended the UU service where Morpheus expanded on sovereignty, and Ameila enchanted us with her voice. She sang a song that brought tears to my eyes. This song touched me so deeply I have listened to it a hundred times since I first heard it........
The shadows fell across the room as I lay down to rest
A storm was raging deep inside my head
I fell into a restless sleep
Of crazy changing dreams
But woke to find you standing by my bed
(chorus) Clohinne winds were blowing when you called me
First you spoke my name
Your voice was still the same
You beckoned me
and I arose To follow where you led
Out among the wild Clohinne hills
The mountain mist had lent an eerie whiteness to the hill
The silver spider threadings caught my face
You darted through the bracken
Trailing stardust in your wake
I knew you'd stop beside our sacred place
(Chorus)
You stopped upon the fairy hill beneath the hawthorn tree
I thought I heard a lonely banshee wail
You held your hand towards me
And I reached to touch your face
But woke to find that you were just a dream
(Chorus)
The years have passed
And I am growing weary of this earth
The magic of the dream alludes me still
I've lain beneath the fairy tree
I've shouted to the moon
I am the haunted woman of the hill
(Chorus)

After a lunch of a strawberry and banana smoothie, I was able to attend Sable Aradia's workshop on trance. She is currently working on a book called "The Witches 8 paths of power" It will be covering everything from meditation, trance, dance, and the great rite! It will be out fall of 2013 and I highly recommend keeping an eye out. Her workshop on trance was a mix of science and magic. She started with " Magick is the art of changing consciousness according to will ~ Dion Fortune" This could give you a good hint of what it would be about! She spoke of the different brain waves, from Beta to Delta to Gamma and everywhere in-between. She told us where our brain was during ritual, during scrying, and during trance. How to achieve the different states, NOTHING was held back, and it was defiantly Adult only. She does sell a DVD of this workshop, and if you are even remotely interested in trance, you MUST buy it. www.Sablearadia.webs.com

We had to leave immediately after this workshop, missing a few more, but we had to make it back to the real world. Parting was sad, and I didn't want the weekend to end, but all good things must come to an end! We began to make our way through the mountains, and back to the States. We ate a delicious Greek dinner, and we crossed the border no problem, and chatted along the way, somehow we got turned around, and I am SO sure it was not on accident. We came to a screeching halt when we found ourselves at the edge of a river, waiting for the Ferry to come take us back. It all became so clear to me at that point what had happened. When we began our journey we traveled North West  over the boarder (hedge, veil, other side) and into a lush grape filled land called "Summerland" We partook in several rituals that took us to the underworld, through chant, and working widdershins. We were so lost in the energy we missed out on the symbolism until we arrived at the bank. As the ferry man waved us on to the ferry and we began to travel back over the water (south) I saw the weather vane change direction, and I began to think of Barinthus the Avalon boat man, who some know as Manannan mac Lir, who we had chanted to in the opening ritual! As well as Charon the ferry man on the River Styx. We had literally traveled to the underworld, and we now were on our journey back. It was sad to leave but I have the memories, and new and old friends to help me remember.

"Don't ignore the cry of Destiny, instead claim it, take responsibility for your own destiny but with integrity
~ Morpheous Ravenna ( As close as I could get to accurate, sorry if it is not perfect)

As I wrote this blog, I thought to myself about how Idalia had such a profound experience, which I will not speak about because that is her tale to tell. I was content to have learned so much, and though not disappointed about not having a profound experience I knew that this would be a milestone in my own path, I just had not figured it out. As many of you know I have been studying the Avalon Mysteries, with Mara Freeman, as well as on my own. I had thought of Barinthus many times during the weekend, but didn't think anything of it till now. Most of my Avalon studies have been focused on the feminine. It was not until I wrote this blog, that I made the connection between Barinthus and Manannan mac Lir. Though my focus is on water, and healing energies, I work with the Sun deity Belenos, and the underworld God Gwyn app Nudd. I feel that with Manannan mac Lir, I may have found my watery male deity. He carries a crane bag (the Crane being my totem) and is associated with the Hawthorn tree (see song lyrics above for mention of the tree, interesting how the song touched me so much) .......... Thank you Andrea Hess for this weekend, as it has made a profound impact on my own path, as I knew it would. http://www.manannan.net/whois/index.html

Bones, wings and dangerous things

The  Rain walker and I set out on a dry morning a day before the moon was full. It was a hot and dry day but we were so excited. It may have been hot, but it had finally reached a breathable temperature We could finally venture outside without risk of heat exhaustion. We had originally ventured out in search of Cholla but we found so much more!

Cholla is a cactus and very magical plant its covered in sharp and chaotic spines on the outside, but on the inside its soft and has an intricate weave. We hunted for Cholla skeletons for a while, at first we didn't find much, what we did find were a very strange plant it looked to be part of the Solanaceae family with permission from the plant we took some samples home. After some research I found that it was actually called Pedaliaceae which is closely related to "bat head" It is sometimes called Desert Unicorn or Devils Claw.  Devils Claw is known to help with joint pain medicinally and Magicaly it is used for protection. I personally have used it for underworld and nocturnal work. Its bat head like shape connects it to the nocturnal and underworld work. After this amazing discovery I will be headed out in about a month to harvest the dead and dried "pods" what we know as the "bat head" that is used in Voodoo and Hoodoo.

After we explored the wild vegetation for a while we kept running into these amazing spider webs. They belong to the funnel spider they are a poisonous spider, but are low risk to humans active March through October. I do plan on going back late October to find any abandon webs. Spiders especially ones that are as intricate as these can be used in underworld magic, to connect to  the fates, and Arachne. Anyone who is a weaver should have these wonderful creatures as their ally. If  you are not a weaver they are creative creatures that teach us about weaving our own fate, and taking control of our own lives.

Finally we found a patch of Cholla. We took great care to harvest only the dead and dying parts of the plant. We came home with a back pack full! I have so many wonderful pieces that I am very excited to start crafting ritual items with.

We had our arms full and decided to head back to the car. As we headed back we got turned around just a bit. Instead of heading to the car we ended up in the bottom of a wash ( a natural dry  bed that holds water when it rains) We were chatting about what a wonderful day it was and joking about how it would be perfect if I could only find some bones, and how surprised I was that I actually hadn't found any. It was only about 10 steps later that right in front of me was rib bone. I am not sure if it is a wild boar or other animal but it is in great shape and I was so happy to find it!

We passed a bush that was alive with butterflies. You have to watch the video to see how many!

We veered to the right and further down the wash there in front of us was a large cactus not Cholla, but an unknown species (to me). It was completely dead with skeleton pieces exposed. We were able to  harvest several skeleton pieces from the carcass without getting stuck and without disrupting the growth around it.

While the rain walker was cleaning the skeleton pieces I ventured further into the wash I was so excited as I rounded the corner. There was wild and beautiful Datura. I had brought gloves and was so happy I did! I dug around the plants and was able to dig up 3 without destroying the root system. When we arrived home we planted them and they are faring well! To find out more about Datura visit one of my favorite pages Alchemy-Works http://www.alchemy-works.com/datura_info.html

On our way back to the truck we were talking yet again,  "wouldn't it be nice to find a dead bird? I'm sure there is one around here somewhere" Just few steppes further and I found several wing pieces. No other parts but just wings and they were in fantastic shape already partially mummified. I will be crafting some wonderful ritual items from them as well!

A box of bones, Lizard legs and chaos...........

My goodness it has been so long since I have really sat down and blogged. I have truly wanted to be writing. I really enjoy sharing my practice. So the last thing I promised to write about was about the Lizard Legs. I am still working on them. I will be making 2 talisman and will most likely put them up on Etsy. I really enjoy crafting and I seem to have found a niche with bones. I have am experimenting with henna and bones too, but that juicy goodness will have to wait! So back to the lizard legs. Thor has been a busy evil cat. He finally got the big daddy lizard. It was too late when I found him I was so sad to see such a beautiful creature lifeless like that but such is the cycle of life. I removed the legs from the lifeless body as I would bird wings when I find them passed as well. Into the Witches oven they went the reptilian scent mixed with patchouli filled the air, they came out fantastic, dried and preserved.
Lizard Legs

In other news I will be writing 2 columns for Bell Spirit Magazine, one on the Artist spot light, as well as my own personal column. I am currently working on my own piece of art called "Poison" inspired by the Art of Mucha (Art Nouveau) and Baneful herbs. She will be released when she is finished but it will be a few weeks still. I recently returned home from a henna conference that weekend was the most amazing I have ever had. Not only did I learn so much, but I the people were just simply amazing. After having a run in with the psychotic henna artist from Washington it was sheer delight to have a wonderful peaceful and supportive weekend from so many talented artists. It really made me see the potential that can be achieve with more practice and dedication. My favorite class was on the Moroccan Henna. They spoke of henna being used for protection, and for marking life transitions (hint hint wink wink about the bones) My very first henna teacher Dan of Vortex art in Japan was just published in a book of Japaneese Henna artists and I can't wait to see her work. Though it is in Japanese I can still appreciate the photos of her work. I am so blessed to have been her student!
Recent Henna design I did

The past month was one of pure chaos. My husband lost his job, and usually this would be a crisis but it was the best thing that has ever happened to him. I will have to fill you in on more of that later. It seemed like one thing after another, barely any time to think, or do much of anything. I am not going to dwell in the negative of these things as it serves no purpose. It was a hard month full of emotionally twisting things and I am glad it is in the past.
My Coven has been so supportive, I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends, and students. They have all been so supportive and I am so proud to say that they are part of my life. One student brought me to a local crystal store Star Women Crystals. If you are local you must go! I picked up a wonderful piece of Kunzite that will be paired with a quartz crystal and a badger bone. Another student and I are headed out on Thursday to go hunt for Choya. Lastly I received a box of bones this month filled to the brim with wonderful pieces of bone perfect for crafting ritual tools.
So that is the update, I have started an Ayurvedic cleanse that I will be telling more about in a later blog. I am headed out to plant some strawberries and black holly hocks!

Searching for water

This summer has been so hot. It could be because we are in Arizona where the temperatures are always above 100 degrees in the summer. I have been incredibly successful in being able to appease my “Capricorn rising” by maintaining several gardens. My nightshades are growing incredibly, and I have baby foxglove that seem to be doing well. There are two new mystery plants in the yard. I am so excited to see what they are. They look like nightshade so I am hoping for wild Datura.

Since it has been so dang hot I haven’t been able to walk down to the pond and feed the ducks. The blue heron hasn’t been spotted in several weeks, and to be honest I haven’t seen any vulture either. Tuesday my husband decided to surprise me, we drove and drove to the north east of Phoenix.  There was a beautiful body of water. Though I went to high school in Arizona I have never been to the Salt River. He knows that I am itching for a trip up north to drink the cool waters of Montezuma’s well, but time and finances are currently preventing it.

When we arrived we started to explore, sadly to say it was so hot we didn’t get to stay long, but the short time was worth it. I felt so close to home, so wonderful to be right by the water, a natural body of flowing water. There were HUGE fish swimming close to the bank, and of course less than 5 minutes from being there, what did I find, a wonderful and very clean bird skeleton. It is a wonderful gift, a wonderful reminder that I was exactly where I should be. I thought it very symbolic that here we are right after Lammas, headed into the dark side of the year, and there was a beautiful reminder of both death, and birth.

Lammas was very rough for many of my friends, with mercury in retrograde and a full moon, it was quite potent. I suffered from much emotional turmoil, the looming feeling of the cycle of death right in front of me. It made me think, ponder, and reevaluate what I wanted out of my spiritual life.  Sometimes it is just time to fly on your own.  Don’t get me wrong I will continue my studies, just I have reevaluated how I will study, how I will handle things, and what direction my path will take me. I have felt that I have kept a security blanket of sorts, constantly looking for approval from my teachers, hoping that my work will please them and is up to snuff.  Having the security blanket in place was more of a hindrance; it was almost like it was clouding my path. The events of Lammas really shook the ground from underneath me.  I feel fresh, I have a whole new drive, the path has been made clear and onward I go. (More on this later sorry to be cryptic but when I tell you it is going to be awesome!) This quote my Jason Silva really sums it up. Sometimes the only thing that can create life, is death its self.

Return to things that are meaningful and bathe inside of it. Return to things that are important. See the world in a grain of sand, heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, or eternity in an hour. Shake up the rug out from underneath your feet. Disruption makes things new again, it makes ideas fresh. Return to things that are meaningful and bathe inside of it, partake in those things that will somehow make us come alive ~ Jason Silva

Standing there staring at the water, in places flowing slowly, in others rushing over rocks, it reminded me that everything changes, it is always changing. The important thing is to flow with the river of life, slow, fast, and everything in between. This song is one of my favorite songs; it is so soulful and so appropriate of the time I am emerging out of. Sometimes the only friend you have is the moonlight, she is quite, but she is a beautiful friend.  Enjoy…….. and don’t forget to bend, before you break

Around here, it's the hardest time of year
Waking up, the days are even gone
The collar of my coat
Lord help me, cannot help the cold
Will the rain drops sting my eyes
or keep them closed?
But I'm feelin' no pain
I'm a little lonely and my quietest friend
Have I the moonlight? Have I let you in?
Say it aint so, say I'm happy again
Say it's over
Say I'm dreaming, say I'm better than you left me
Say you're sorry, I can take it
Say you'll wait, say you won't
Say you love me, say you don't
I can make my own mistakes
Let it bend before it breaks
I'm alright. Don't I always seem to be?
Aren't I swinging on the stars? Don't I wear them on my sleeves?
Went looking for a crossroads, It happens everyday
And whichever way you turn, I'm gonna turn the other way
Say it's over
Say I'm dreaming, say I'm better than you left me
Say you're sorry, I can take it
Say you'll wait, say you won't
Say you love me, say you don't
I can make my own mistakes
Learn to let it bend before it breaks
Say it's over
Say I'm dreaming, say I'm better than you left me
Say you're sorry, I can take it
Say you'll wait, say you won't
Say you love me, say you don't
I can make my own mistakes
Let it bend before it breaks
And learn to let it bend before it breaks

PENDULUM DIVINATION
by Triskele Rose

Divination is the art of seeing the unknown, the interpretations of symbols, the act of crossing the veil to see the unknown.  Since the beginning of time we have craved knowledge, knowledge to understand the present, past and future. When we first think of Divination, we think of tarot cards, and though this is a very popular and successful way of divining, I wanted to start with something a bit more simple, yet mysterious. Divination with the pendulum can be a very rewarding practice, and is a great starting point for anyone interested in becoming a Master Diviner. I know some people that become so attached to their pendulum that they wear them as necklaces, creating a bond both physical and energetically.  A necklace pendulum, weather this is a regular pendulum that has been turned into a necklace, or a necklace that has been turned in to a pendulum, is great to have in an emergency divining moment, on vacation, at the store etc.
When choosing a pendulum it is very important to find one that you are attracted to. This is a very simple, yet extremely effective way of finding one that you resonate with.  Visual and energetic attractions are the key to finding a pendulum that will work for you. It is vital to find something that you are harmonious with.  Though this might sound silly, if you think it is pretty then there is a good reason for that, and a good chance that it is the right one for you. This is the easiest way to find a pendulum. If this is too simple for you, then go deeper and start to feel the energy. If you choose one that is metal, look for a shape or symbols that you resonate with, if it is a crystal, then go with something that you can feel, and hold it for a while.  Ask yourself, your guides, and the pendulum if this is the right one for you. If you find that you get a yes, then take it home! If not then keep looking, you will find that certain shapes, colors, and styles will attract you. You can also make one yourself. I have always felt that the most magickal tools were the ones that I put so much care and craft into. Basic supplies can be found in nature, or the craft store.
Once you have acquired a pendulum that you resonate with, it is good to cleanse it and then consecrate it. I personally love to use white sage, but if your crystal is not negatively affected by water, then you could create “holy water” from rose petals and moonlight. Sprinkle the pendulum with the water, sunlight can also be very effective. After I have smudged my pendulum, I like to create invoking pentagrams over the base of it, helping to solidify the positive energy, and start to activate it. The Cho Ku Rei Reiki symbol is also very effective if you are a Reiki practitioner. I pass it through each of the elements to consecrate it and help to align it with each energy. I have heard of some giving names, or breathing life into it; these are also very effective methods to enhance your connection with it.  Once it is properly cleansed, and consecrated, it is time to program it. Many occult stores sell beautiful embroidered velvet mats that have yes, no, maybe etc on them. If finances do not allow for this is it simple to use a piece of paper with these same words written on it. Simply hold the pendulum between the thumb and first finger lightly and very still, you can then let the pendulum start to swing on its own in which ever direction it wants, when it has reached a good speed see where it is swinging on the paper, and begin to chant the words over and over again. If you find that it doesn’t swing on its own, then begin to swing it in the direction of Yes, as it is swinging chant over and over YES YES YES. After this is done, continue on for the rest of the words. Do this repeatedly till you feel that the energies are aligned, then take the mat or paper away and begin to try it on your own.  Ask a simple question that you know the answer to, and see if the pendulum will swing in the correct direction. When you find that this is working perfectly then begin to try it on things you do not know the answer to. I personally like to use it on chakras, when I am working on a Reiki client, I will pull out my pendulum and hold it over the chakras, and see how it swings, watching for different movements, vibrations and patterns, a simple way to use it on your own chakras is, get in a comfortable position, hold the pendulum over a chakra, watch to see which way it swings. Whatever you programmed as “no” would be a chakra that needed work or is “small” or “dirty”, and whatever was programmed as a “Yes” would be a chakra that would be healthy and balanced.
Skeptics will say it is your own hand that is creating the swinging, that you are influencing the direction it swings, I personally don’t agree. I think that the subtle energies are moving the pendulum, but for argument sake even if they are correct and it is the hand that creates the direction, isn’t that the point? To find the hidden things of the mind, to have a visual confirmation of what is going on in our subconscious, too create trust, and encouragement to follow one direction.

Magickal Inks!

Magickal Inks!

There are always shortcuts to things, and I feel like MOST of what is on the pagan market today are easy simple blends and mixes for the Wicca 101. So my intention is to make quality products, for myself, but also for the community! I want products I know another Witch put time and energy into, so that is what I want to give back! I opened my store on etsy last week, and have decided to start out  with inks, there are some other things in the store that were crafted lovingly by me as well! So here are my Magickal Inks!

I started by boiling, beets and rose petals on the stove for the Doves blood. Black Berry, pomegranate buds and seeds, and yellow dock for the Ancestor ink. Lastly beets, bat head root and burdock root also called Bat leaf for the bats blood! Once the dyes started to release, I added several other ingredients. For the Doves blood I added, burned doves feathers, cloves, dragons blood, hibiscus, cassia, gardenia, musk oil, damiena, gum arabic, and several other ingredients which will remain a secret! I let these boil for several hours! For the ancestor ink I added Blood root, life everlasting, yarrow, clove, basil, elder berry, bone dust, walnut and a few other ingredients! For the Bats blood I added gum arabic, cassia, myrrh, and a few other secret ingredients! These all simmered, boiled, and were stirred for several hours, filtered water was added, and then boiled, and stirred some more!

After these started to become opaque, and thicker, they were all strained, the beets taken out and disposed of, all the others herbs were set aside and dried and will be used in incense blends! The smell so amazing! They were then set on the windowsil to cool!
I then capped them, and stored them for a few days! When my bottles arrived, I added vodka, and mixed one more time! Tested them to make sure they color was good, which is was! Then bottled and labeled them! You can truly feel the energy radiating off of them! They are very powerful! SO be careful! They are now on etsy here! http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheWaterWitch

Sheep in the road
I have to say that I slightly regret only being able to stay one day in Wales. The drive there was beautiful, we had to cross a very large bridge to get there, it was interesting because we went over the bridge, and into a thick mist and emerged out the other side into the sun. Very symbolic I thought. Breacon Beacon was magickal, the waterfalls on the side of the road, and the large towering hills that had been untouched by civilization were enchanting. Our destination was Llyn Y Fan Fach, we drove and drove and drove and then saw some sheep in the middle of the road waited for them to cross then drove some more. We finally reached a cross roads., to the left the sign said Mydffia and to the right Llyn Y Fan Fach. Of course we went down Llyn Y Fan Fach.  I wanted to see what was down the Mydffia road, but the man at the corner shop warned us that it was a dangerous road and the one to the lake was better. I decided not to take my chances considering the road to Llyn Y Fan Fach was a one way ticket to death. Blind turns on sharp angles, meant for one car only I’m glad we didn’t meet anyone coming the other way.

When we arrived at the lake we were surprised to find that it was a good 1.5 hour hike just to the lake. It was beautiful and spiritual; water from the lake was running down creating waterfalls and a beautiful spray of white water. By thw time we reached the lake we were all exhausted. The grass was soft and there was no one but us there. We all lay down and fell asleep. I dreamt of the Gwragged Annwn, I honestly don’t remember anything of what they said, I only remember seeing tem emerge from the center of the lake. I would have thought that it was all in my head but they physically gifted me with a small quartz cluster.  I bottled some of the water which was crystal clear and we headed home. It was one of the most satisfying places we went. Ill be going back for sure.

Front of Crystal
There lived at Blaensawdde near Llanddeusant, Carmarthenshire, a widowed woman who had an only son to bring up. She sent a portion of her cattle to graze on the adjoining Black Mountain, and their most favourite place was near the small lake called Llyn y Fan Fach, on the north-western side of the Carmarthenshire Fans.
Back of Crystal
Another rock I found at the lake with crystal formations
The son was generally sent by his mother to look after the cattle on the mountain. One day, along the margin of the lake, to his great astonishment, he beheld, sitting on the unruffled surface of the water, a lady; one of the most beautiful creatures that mortal eyes ever beheld, her hair flowed gracefully in ringlets over her shoulders, the tresses of which she arranged with a comb, whilst the glassy surface of her watery couch served for the purpose of a mirror, reflecting back her own image. Suddenly she beheld the young man standing on the brink of the lake, with his eyes riveted on her, and unconsciously offering to herself the provision of barley bread and cheese with which he had been provided when he left his home.
Bewildered by a feeling of love and admiration for the object before him, he continued to hold out his hand towards the lady, who imperceptibly glided near to him, but gently refused the offer of his provisions. He attempted to touch her, but she eluded his grasp, saying--
Cras dy fara;
Nid hawdd fy nala.
Hard baked is thy bread!
'Tis not easy to catch me
Back of other rock
and immediately dived under the water and disappeared, leaving the love-stricken youth to return home, a prey to disappointment and regret that he had been unable to make further acquaintance with one, in comparison with whom the whole of the fair maidens of Llanddeusant and Myddfai whom he had ever seen were as nothing.
On his return home the young man communicated to his mother the extraordinary vision he had beheld. She advised him to take some unbaked dough or "toes" the next time in his pocket, as there must have been some spell connected with the hard-baked bread, or "Bara cras," which prevented his catching the lady.
Next morning, before the sun had gilded with its rays the peaks of the Fans, the young man was at the lake, not for the purpose of looking after his mother's cattle, but seeking for the same enchanting vision he had witnessed the day before; but all in vain did he anxiously strain his eyeballs and glance over the surface of the lake, as only the ripples occasioned by a stiff breeze met his view, and a cloud hung heavily on the summit of the Fan, which imparted an additional gloom to his already distracted mind.
Hours passed on, the wind was hushed, and the clouds which had enveloped the mountain had vanished into thin air before the powerful beams of the sun, when the youth was startled by seeing some of his mother's cattle on the precipitous side of the acclivity, nearly on the opposite side of the lake. His duty impelled him to attempt to rescue them from their perilous position, for which purpose he was hastening away, when, to his inexpressible delight, the object of his search again appeared to him as before, and seemed much more beautiful than when he first beheld her. His hand was again held out to her, full of unbaked bread, which he offered with an urgent proffer of his heart also, and vows of eternal attachment. All of which were refused by her, saying-
Llaith dy fara!
 Ti ni fynna'.
Unbaked is thy bread!
 I will not have thee
But the smiles that played upon her features as the lady vanished beneath the waters raised within the young man a hope that forbade him to despair by her refusal of him, and the recollection of which cheered him on his way home. His aged parent was made acquainted with his ill-success, and she suggested that his bread should next time be but slightly baked, as most likely to please the mysterious being of whom he had become enamoured.
Impelled by an irresistible feeling, the youth left his mother's house early next morning, and with rapid steps he passed over the mountain. He was soon near the margin of the lake, and with all the impatience of an ardent lover did he wait with a feverish anxiety for the reappearance of the mysterious lady.
The freshness of the early morning had disappeared before the sultry rays of the noon-day sun, which in its turn was fast verging towards the west as the evening was dying away and making room for the shades of night, and hope had well-nigh abated of beholding once more the Lady of the Lake. The young man cast a sad and last farewell look over the waters, and, to his astonishment, beheld several cows walking along its surface. The sight of these animals caused hope to revive that they would be followed by another object far more pleasing; nor was he disappointed, for the maiden reappeared, and to his enraptured sight, even lovelier than ever. She approached the land, and he rushed to meet her in the water. A smile encouraged him to seize her hand; neither did she refuse the moderately baked bread he offered her; and after some persuasion she consented to become his bride, on condition that they should only live together until she received from him three blows without a cause,
Tri ergyá diachos.
 Three causeless blows.
And if he ever should happen to strike her three such blows she would leave him forever. To such conditions he readily consented, and would have consented to any other stipulation, had it been proposed, as he was only intent on then securing such a lovely creature for his wife.
Thus the Lady of the Lake engaged to become the young man's wife, and having loosed her hand for a moment she darted away and dived into the lake. His chagrin and grief were such that he determined to cast himself headlong into the deepest water, so as to end his life in the element that had contained in its unfathomed, depths the only one for whom he cared to live on earth. As he was on the point of committing this rash act, there emerged out of the lake two most beautiful ladies, accompanied by a hoary-headed man of noble mien and extraordinary stature, but having otherwise all the force and strength of youth. This man addressed the almost bewildered youth in accents calculated to soothe his troubled mind, saying that as he proposed to marry one of his daughters, he consented to the union, provided the young man could distinguish which of the two ladies before him was the object of his affections. This was no easy task, as the maidens were such perfect counterparts of each other that it seemed quite impossible for him to choose his bride, and if perchance he fixed upon the wrong one all would be forever lost.
Whilst the young man narrowly scanned the two ladies, he could not perceive the least difference betwixt the two, and was almost giving up the task in despair, when one of them thrust her foot a slight degree forward. The motion, simple as it was, did not escape the observation of the youth, and he discovered a trifling variation in the mode with which their sandals were tied. This at once put an end to the dilemma, for he, who had on previous occasions been so taken up with the general appearance of the Lady of the Lake, had also noticed the beauty of her feet and ankles, and on now recognizing the peculiarity of her shoe-tie he boldly took hold of her hand.
"Thou hast chosen rightly," said her father; "be to her a kind and faithful husband, and I will give her, as a dowry, as many sheep, cattle, goats, and horses as she can count of each without heaving or drawing in her breath. But remember, that if you prove unkind to her at any time, and strike her three times without a cause, she shall return to me, and shall bring all her stock back with her."
Such was the verbal marriage settlement, to which the young man gladly assented, and his bride was desired to count the number of sheep she was to have. She immediately adopted the mode of counting by fives, thus:--One, two, three, four, five -- One, two, three, four, five; as many times as possible in rapid succession, till her breath was exhausted. The same process of reckoning had to determine the number of goats, cattle, and horses respectively; and in an instant the full number of each came out of the lake when called upon by the father.
The young couple were then married, by what ceremony was not stated, and afterwards went to reside at a farm called Esgair Llaethdy, somewhat more than a mile from the village of Myddfai, where they lived in prosperity and happiness for several years, and became the parents of three sons, who were beautiful children.
Once upon a time there was a christening to take place in the neighbourhood, to which the parents were specially invited. When the day arrived the wife appeared very reluctant to attend the christening, alleging that the distance was too great for her to walk. Her husband told her to fetch one of the horses which were grazing in an adjoining field. "I will," said she, "if you will bring me my gloves which I left in our house." He went to the house and returned with the gloves, and finding that she had not gone for the horse jocularly slapped her shoulder with one of them, saying, "go! go!", when she reminded him of the understanding upon which she consented to marry him:-That he was not to strike her without a cause; and warned him to be more cautious for the future.
On another occasion, when they were together at a wedding, in the midst of the mirth and hilarity of the assembled guests, who had gathered together from all the surrounding country, she burst into tears and sobbed most piteously. Her husband touched her on her shoulder and inquired the cause of her weeping: she said, "Now people are entering into trouble, and your troubles are likely to commence, as you have the second time stricken me without a cause."
Years passed on, and their children had grown up, and were particularly clever young men. In the midst of so many worldly blessings at home the husband almost forgot that there remained only one causeless blow to be given to destroy the whole of his prosperity. Still he was watchful lest any trivial occurrence should take place which his wife must regard as a breach of their marriage contract. She told him, as her affection for him was unabated, to be careful that he would not, through some inadvertence, give the last and only blow, which, by an unalterable destiny, over which she had no control, would separate them for ever.
It, however, so happened that one day they were together at a funeral, where, in the midst of the mourning and grief at the house of the deceased, she appeared in the highest and gayest spirits, and indulged in immoderate fits of laughter, which so shocked her husband that he touched her, saying, "Hush! hush! don't laugh." She said that she laughed "because people when they die go out of trouble," and, rising up, she went out of the house, saying, "The last blow has been struck, our marriage contract is broken, and at an end! Farewell!" Then she started off towards Esgair Llaethdy, where she called her cattle and other stock together, each by name. The cattle she called thus:--
Mu wlfrech, Moelfrech,
Mu olfrech, Gwynfrech,
Pedair cae tonn-frech,
Yr hen wynebwen.
A'r las Geigen,
Gyda'r Tarw Gwyn
O lys y Brenin;
 A'r llo du bach,
 Syll ar y bach,
Dere dithau, yn iach adre!
Brindled cow, white speckled,
Spotted cow, bold freckled,
The four field sward mottled,
The old white-faced,
And the grey Geingen,
With the white Bull,
From the court of the King;
 And the little black calf
 Tho' suspended on the hook,
Come thou also, quite well home!
They all immediately obeyed the summons of their mistress. The "little black calf," although it had been slaughtered, became alive again, and walked off with the rest of the stock at the command of the lady. This happened in the spring of the year, and there were four oxen ploughing in one of the fields; to these she cried:--
Pedwar eidion glas
/Sydd ar y maes,
/Deuwch chwithau
/Yn iach adre!
The four grey oxen,
/That are on the field,
/Come you also
 /Quite well home!
Away the whole of the live stock went with the Lady across Myddfai Mountain, towards the lake from whence they came, a distance of above six miles, where they disappeared beneath its waters, leaving no trace behind except a well-marked furrow, which was made by the plough the oxen drew after them into the lake, and which remains to this day as a testimony to the truth of this story.
What became of the affrighted ploughman--whether he was left on the field when the oxen set off, or whether he followed them to the lake, has not been handed down to tradition; neither has the fate of the disconsolate and half-ruined husband been kept in remembrance. But of the sons it is stated that they often wandered about the lake and its vicinity, hoping that their mother might be permitted to visit the face of the earth once more, as they had been apprised of her mysterious origin, her first appearance to their father, and the untoward circumstances which so unhappily deprived them of her maternal care.
In one of their rambles, at a place near Dôl Howel, at the Mountain Gate, still called "Llidiad y Meddygon," The Physicians' Gate, the mother appeared suddenly, and accosted her eldest son, whose name was Rhiwallon, and told him that his mission on earth was to be a benefactor to mankind by relieving them from pain and misery, through healing all manner of their diseases; for which purpose she furnished him with a bag full of medical prescriptions and instructions for the preservation of health. That by strict attention thereto he and his family would become for many generations the most skilful physicians in the country. Then, promising to meet him when her counsel was most needed, she vanished. But on several occasions she met her sons near the banks of the lake, and once she even accompanied them on their return home as far as a place still called "Pant-y-Meddygon," The dingle of the Physicians, where she pointed out to them the various plants and herbs which grew in the dingle, and revealed to them their medicinal qualities or virtues; and the knowledge she imparted to them.

Stourhead

Old guys house
Faery portal?
Stourhead was a beautiful accident. We arrived at Stourhead in the rain on day 1. We bought a membership to the National Trust which gave us free access, I was so happy we did because we were only able to go see the Temple of Apollo and then had to leave to make it to our Stonehenge appointment.

Beautiful flowers saturated the park

Temple of Apollo
We returned two days later and stayed for several hours. I was so glad that we did. This place, in the rain or sun was full of life, magick and a strong Fae presence. Though this was just some rich guys old home, the Gods, Goddesses and Faery have moved in and made this home. It was amazing, beautiful shrines, temples, grottoes, large beautiful stone and plaster statues.

River Guardian
The entire park had a sacredness about it, it had magick it was a sanctuary for both nature and spirit.  When we made it to the grotto of the water nymph and river guardian you could FEEL their spirit there. We gave a gift of coins to show our respect and love for them. On the floor before the Nymph was a line from a poem

"Nymph of the Grot these sacred springs I keep,
And to the murmur of these waters sleep;
Ah! Spare my slumbers, gently tread the cave,
And drink in silence, or in silence lave. "

Pantheon
When we arrived at the pantheon it was amazing, there was such beautiful craftsmanship to the entire building and each statue, and wall plaque. The statue of Flora (I heard) was ACTUALLY from Rome. The others were reproductions made sometime in the 1800s (I think). The statues in the past had been scattered in the park in the different temples, but recently had been moved to the Pantheon.

I was amazed when we reached the Temple of Flora to see that the decoration on the outside of her temple were animal skulls. I did not think that this would be what her temple was decorated with, it made me pause and think about my own love for flowers and animal skulls and how they correlated.
(keep reading more down below)

These are two wonderful ducks that let me get so close and allowed me to photograph them. There was a peacefulness about the park that is shown in the serenity of these ducks. THIS is what I thought the whole of England would be like. Unfortunately I cant live here as its now national park.

How can the Faery not be here? They have surely left their mark
Fiddle head ferns, a sign of newness, and birth.
Could this be a Faery portal? if so how many realms could be accessed through this?

To sum up, this Water Witch found HOME here at this park. The serenity of the atmosphere, the gentleness of the trees, and animals. THIS was a sanctuary to the Gods. I was getting spiritual "hits" left and right. I could sense Flora like she was calling to me, beckoning me to worship her. The Nymph of the Grotto spoke to me of the seduction of water, and to work with Ducks more. She told me there was so much to learn from the water, lakes, rain and fog. Now it is time for me to become a MASTER at water macigk. Oh where to start....................

Glastonbury

Glastonbury was both a place of Chaos and Magick. It’s interesting how the two energies be floating around colliding at every opportunity but yet keep their true essence.  I will start with the Magick of the Red Well, the Chalice Well.  We woke up early; I wanted to be at the gate at 10. We arrived at 10:30, close enough for me. It was just me and my Husband. Nana had taken all the children to a castle that day. I am glad that Alek went he would have had MUCH more fun in the castle, than being drug around Glastonbury all day.  We paid our 4 BP each to get into the garden.

I wanted to run to the Vesica Pisces well cover but instead I headed over to the larger Vesica Pisces pool.

and basked in how beautiful it was. From there I went to the gift shop which was small but still had some wonderful things. Duston surprised me with a book called Undine, which is a fantastic book on the creatures of the water. There was a book called Gwyn that I should have got but didn’t, it’s now on my reading list.  All the profits from the store went to the Chalice well trust

so of course I chose to support it.

I got this wonderful candle, the undine book and an amazing wand. I consecrated the wand in both the waters of the Red and White Well. I know that this will be an amazing healing tool. It is made of a Fresh water pearl (very appropriate for this Fresh Water Fae) Amethyst, Quartz and a Quartz cluster, and the best part an apple branch from the apple trees  at the base of the Tor. It was crafted in Glastonbury by a local.

As we walked through the garden we saw the Yew trees, which were decorated with gifts of beads, ribbons, string, and crystals. The garden was well preserved, and there were several people tending to the flowers. I could imagine myself working there, how wonderful would that be!  We came to the healing pool. Called something like King Arthur court. I went in of course but the water was SO cold I only went in up to mid calf. It is interesting because being in the water like that activated my Reiki Energy I could begin to feel the same pulses that I do when I’m working Reiki.

Of course I saved the best for last and went over to the Chalice well cover. I was surprised to see plants growing on the inside walls, but it was so beautiful and the waters so calm. After the well we went back and filed up a bottle with the water from the Red well  the water was so strong with iron it did not taste great. (below are the spoils of Glastonbury, the left bottle is the water from the Red well and on the right is the water from the white.)

Since the white well was closed till 1:30 we decided to climb the Tor. It was very windy and hard to climb but worth every moment.  Once we were to the top we sat on the side of the tor and closed our eyes. The warm sun came out at that moment, and the wind stopped. I could feel the presence of the Sun God, Apollo, Belenos, etc.

After the Tor we headed into townwe were so hungry, sad to say that the town did not have the same energy as the Garden or Tor. Though the shops were adorable and I bought a loose resin based incense called Glastonbury, and a few small trinkets.

We decided to head back to the Tor, we stopped at the White Well which was right across from the Red well. It was finally opened. It was not run by the Chalice Trust. It was a dark well house that was lit by candles. The floor was covered in water and I took my shoes off and waded in the water.  It was strange and dark, but I could feel a STRONG underworld presence as if Morgan La Fae and Gwyn Ap Nudd were right there in the well. The house was laden in shrines, candles and magick.  I sat and tried to meditate I did get a small message before being interrupted by a nude man splashing in the pool. I was glad that I filled up with the white water before he decided to go for a swim. The air became uncomfortable and it was time to leave. We climbed the Tor one more time.  As I looked out over the landscape I had this feeling that though this was the place of Avalon, it had now moved on, far beyond the boundaries of the veil. There are portals but they are not doorways more like long hallways. I can still feel the strong presence of Avalon, and though it has disconnected from Glastonbury, Avalon is everywhere, and can be reached through meditation.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge - May 10th

I was in the UK for just a little over 24 hours, rested and ready to go to Stonehenge. Everyone was disappointed about the weather but me. It was overcast, cold and rainy, and I loved it. Oh it was such wonderful weather for this Water Witch, and the perfect way to kick this vacation off. We arrived just a few minutes early and were able to get into the gift shop before it closed. We chose to have the 6:45 time slot which was just shortly after the park closed it regular business hours. The gift shop was normal just like every other gift shop, nothing spectacular except the jewelry made from the Preseli Blue Stone. OF COURSE I bought a piece. There were many beautiful pieces laid in silver, but I chose the beaded bracelet, one because it was affordable, and 2 because my mind started to wonder all these beautiful things I could do with the beads after the bracelet breaks. (It was not bad craftsmanship, but I always break bracelets made like this, it is inevitable)

When it was finally time to go in I could hardly wait. Instructions were given to NOT touch the stones, for various reasons. SHH don’t tell I couldn’t resist, I did. I had to, how could I not?

The circle its self was AMAZING, but there was something about the Heal stone  that really fascinated me. It was a large stone all alone outside the circle. No one was interested in it, but I WAS! I was drawn to it, I don’t know if it was the shape of the stone, or just the energy radiating off of it, but IMO it was the strongest of the stones. It was feminine, soft and beautiful. It is as if it was alive motionless but full of power.

The Alter stone was hard to see as one of the larger stones had fallen on top of it.

This is a picture of the lichen that had grown on the stones. I was fascinated by it shape. I know what I think it looks like, what do you think? Leave me a comment

Though I couldn’t take any dirt or small stones without being caught, I did pick this flower growing in the center of the circle. I pressed it and it has preserved wonderfully.
Here I am by the stones!
The center of these three stones is where the sun rises on the Summer Solstice.

Healing from broken relationships

Healing from hurt others have caused you, pain, anger, the feelings of loss are so difficult to deal with. I take a very different approach to things like this, and many people don't agree with me. IMO I think that it is very normal for you to feel terrible after something has happened. I think that you shouldn't be so hard on yourself for a natural reaction, such as anger, pain, hurt etc. I also believe that to deny ones self these feeling only increases it. Do not dwell on the feelings, instead allow yourself time to grieve, cry, be hurt, etc. This nurtures the healing process and eventually it wont hurt so bad. This is very similar to a divorce/break up. I'm not saying it is the same, but when you care about someone and they hurt/leave you it can do similar damage. You are much better with out the relationship, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. People hurt us and we have to forgive them, but its almost impossible till our wounds are healed, and they wont heal with out the grieving process. Set time aside for you, and to allow yourself to grieve. Honestly it is natural, that is, if you are human.

Sisters of 9 (poem)

Beautiful sisters of 9 how your light shines so divine, muse of my heart, I feel we are never apart. Mordron, Nimue, Vivian, you were there in the most ancient of land, ancient ladies of light block out the dark dark night. Rise up from Avalon, with sword of power, and healing of herbs, whispering sweet sweet little words. Morgan mother of great guard strong the deathly gate. Let those only pure of heart, enter The Isle of Apples. Calling upon you now, rise from the waters of the ancient lands, walking swiftly hand in hand. Surround me in this realm and yours, fill my heart with your love so light, block out those that stalk in the dark dark night.
